Terms of service

Effective 14 October 2026

The short version

Stock Meadow is a research tool, not investment advice. Use it for yourself, don't copy or resell the data, and keep your account to yourself. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel online any time. There are no refunds, except where the law says otherwise.

Who we are

Stock Meadow (“we”, “us”) runs the website at stockmeadow.com and the app at app.stockmeadow.com (together, the “service”). We're based in California, United States. Contact us at hello@stockmeadow.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Give us a real email address and keep your sign-in details safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • An account is for one person. Please don't share it or let others use it.
  • Tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.

What the service is, and isn't

Stock Meadow scores and ranks companies using published formulas, so you can find stocks worth researching. It is for information and education only.

  • It is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing on the service is an offer or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. We aren't a broker, adviser or fund, and we don't see or manage your money.
  • Scores summarise past figures. They can't predict future returns, and past performance doesn't guarantee future results. You can lose money investing.
  • Market and company data comes from third-party providers. It can contain errors, gaps or delays, and we don't guarantee it's accurate, complete or up to date. Check figures with the company's own filings before you act.
  • Make your own decisions, and speak to a licensed professional if you need advice.

We may change, add or remove features and data at any time, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.

Subscriptions, trial and payment

  • Price: one paid plan, $15 per month or $150 per year, in US dollars. Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
  • Free trial: new accounts get a 14-day free trial with full access. No card is needed. When the trial ends, your account keeps a limited preview until you subscribe.
  • Founding members: if you signed up before subscriptions opened, you get full access free until January 14, 2027. After that you can subscribe with a 40% discount: $9 per month or $90 per year, for as long as your subscription continues without a break. If you cancel and let it end, the founding price may no longer be available when you return. The free period is a gift and isn't an obligation to subscribe afterwards; nothing is charged unless you subscribe.
  • Automatic renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price then in force, until you cancel. We'll show this clearly before you pay.
  • Cancelling: cancel any time online, from the Account page or Paddle's billing portal (the link is in your receipt emails). After you cancel, you keep full access to the end of the period you've paid for, and the subscription then ends. You won't be charged again.
  • No refunds: payments are not refundable and we don't give partial refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it (for example, consumer withdrawal rights in the EU or UK). Paddle handles those requests. See our refund policy.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Paddle tries again over the following days. Your full access continues for 7 days after the failed renewal date while it retries. If the payment still hasn't succeeded by then, your account returns to the limited preview until it does, and full access comes back as soon as a payment goes through. You can update your payment method in Paddle's billing portal from the Account page.
  • Subscriptions bought in our iPhone or Android apps: these are billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms, not by Paddle. Apple or Google handles payment, cancellation and refunds for them: manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, and ask them for a refund. The cancellation, renewal and failed-payment rules above apply in the same way, and the same Stock Meadow account gets full access on the website and in the apps while any one of your subscriptions is active.
  • Price changes: we may change our prices. We'll tell you by email at least 30 days before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it does. The founding-member discount stays as a percentage off the new price.

Payments and Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Your purchase is also covered by Paddle's checkout buyer terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the service or its data, by software or by hand;
  • copy, republish, redistribute, sell or sublicense the scores, data or content, in whole or in part, or use them to build a competing product or dataset;
  • share your account, or sell or give access to it;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or try to get at the source code or the data behind the service;
  • get around access limits, such as the free preview, the trial, rate limits or the human check, or use more than one account to do so;
  • attack, overload or probe the service for weaknesses, or use it to break the law.

You may use the service and its scores for your own personal research, and you may quote a small amount with credit to Stock Meadow.

Our content and your content

The Stock Meadow name and logo, Moolah the cow, the scoring methods as we've built them, and the site's text, design and software belong to us. Market and company data belongs to its providers and owners. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active, under these terms. We keep all other rights.

Screens, lists and settings you save are yours. You let us store them and use them only to run the service for you. If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them without owing you anything.

Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@stockmeadow.com. Cancelling a subscription doesn't delete your account.

We may suspend or close an account if you break these terms, if we need to by law, or if your use puts the service or other members at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers and limits on liability) do so after your account ends.

Disclaimers and limits on liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without promises of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a purpose or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free;
  • we are not liable for any investment decision or loss (including lost profits or savings) or for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages that come from using, or not being able to use, the service or its data;
  • our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100 if you haven't paid anything.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or any consumer rights you have that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change matters to members, we'll email you before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in California have jurisdiction over disputes, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else.
